Free health camp held at Kolbi-8, Bara under 'Doctor at Your Doorstep'

Prabhu Hospital, Birgunj completed a free health camp in Kolbi Municipality-8, Bara district, under its 'Doctor at Your Doorstep' (Ghardailo ma Doctor) programme.

Orthopaedic and trauma specialist Dr. Shashwat Sah provided bone and joint check-ups and counselling on hip and knee joint replacement. Free medicines and blood-sugar testing were also offered.

In partnership with Birgunj Community Eye Hospital, eye specialist Mahesh Singh Dhami carried out free eye examinations and dispensed medicines. Some patients were found to have cataracts and were advised to have surgery.

A total of 200 people — 110 women and 90 men, including elderly, children and people with disabilities — benefited from the camp. Programme lead Dilip Raj Karki said the aim of 'Doctor at Your Doorstep' is to bring quality health services to people who cannot easily reach a hospital.

Prabhu Hospital said it will continue to run community health programmes of this kind.
